I will kind of long story short this. So this divorce was started by me and it was uncontested which means I was completely in agreement. My husband never wanted the divorce but I forced him because I thought it’s what God wanted since we were not equally yolked. It didn’t even go to court it was through a third party place. Now I got convicted the day of signing the papers of everything I did wrong my pride rebellion selfishness religiousness etc I literally repented to my husband on the way to the lawyer office. He was emotionally distraught and wished I said everything at any other time besides right on the way there. I didn’t want to sign the papers and he didn’t either. We were both uncertain but because of just the emotional tension and pain we both did. Now we had a 60 day grace period where you could extend or withdrawal before it was filed to court. My husband and I had our last convo in September and we were just not sure what we truly wanted. He said he needed time to think and focus on a big test he was preparing for the next 2 months so he said he wouldn’t hear from him. I respected his request and left him alone. I sought the Lord the entire time allowing him to purify cleanse and refine me. I was contending for my marriage every single day and have not stopped praying for him. The Lord confirmed to me several times He was going to restore my marriage. Now I was waiting for my husband to reach out how he said before thanksgiving to see me and talk. Long story short he never did. He hasn’t even contacted me like that since we last saw each other. My papers were set to go to court nov 22 and I truly was not in agreement with what I signed anymore. I sought the Lord and asked Him what I should do. I could call and postpone/hold off sending to court or I was willing to do nothing and let the papers go if that’s what He wanted. I knew it would hurt but of course I want to be obedient to my Father because He knows what’s best for me. It was the day before the deadline and I sought the Lord all day, had other people praying for clarity for me on what to do. I asked the Lord to please give me peace about the decision He wants me to make. I had peace to call and recant my agreement to the divorce so I did which just in a sense paused them from being filed to court. So I’m still legally married right now as far as I know. They did tell me he could appeal it but I haven’t heard anything in regards to that. If I do want to go through to court all I need to do is call and ask them to resubmit them. My husband to this day it’s been about a month now has not said a word to me about it. I don’t even know where he stands. We exchanged a happy thanksgiving text after I pulled my agreement and that’s it. I’ve just been praying and waiting on the Lord. I believe I made the right decision and I don’t want to fall into doubt but just waiting to see what the next step is for me personally here. I waited 2 months because I assumed my husband was going to pull them after we saw each other and really hashed it out. He seems to be avoiding me now. I know the books and everything say not to stand in the way of divorce and I’m not trying to but I truly believe I heard God right I was willing to do whatever He asked of me and I still am. It has not been easy but I’ve been focused on the things the Lord puts in front of me to help minister to other brothers and sisters He places in my path, intercede in prayer for. Etc. I have been applying almost everything I’ve learned in the books before I even read the books. So the Lord had me on the right path this entire time and the books and everything were just confirmation. I just find it strange he hasn’t said anything to me regarding this. Either way I’m trusting the Lord to guide me completely. I’ve released expectation for him to reach out or see me how I desired too before but I am praying if it’s in Gods will to prompt at least some sort of conversations about this.
Please use the space below to simply speak to God, in your own words, pouring your heart out to Him.
Father God I know you are going to restore this marriage I just want to abide in you with every decision and every thought
I want to make sure I’m hearing you correctly and in perfect alignment with your will for my life in this current season
My heart aches Lord but I am willing to be obedient to whatever you ask of me I am willing to go wherever you call me
Help me get about my Fathers business
Help me to trust more
Help me to keep changing and dying to myself
Less of me

  1. Thank you for sharing your story. It sounds like you have been seeking the Lord and trying to do what is right.

My husband was once living away from home. I was heartbroken but it gave me so much more time to spend and get to know the Lord. I believe that the best thing you can do right now is to continue to trust in Him and wait for His guidance. He knows what is best for you, and He will not lead you astray. Spend time in prayer and in His Word. Allow Him to heal your heart and to give you the strength you need to keep going. https://hopeatlast.com/c3/day-2-chapter-2-first-love/

I’m happy that He has led you here to find encouragement and fellowship through this website with like-minded women.

If you haven’t already started please do the courses and journal, as they will help renew your mind. Day 1 Chapter 1 “My Beloved” – HopeAtLast.com

It’s hard but his Word does say that He hates divorce. He has all the control and with Him ALL things are possible.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. He saves those whose spirits have been crushed.” Ps3418

    1. Amen thank you so much for writing back to me! God bless you and thanks for sharing those links. I will check them out today in my time with the Lord

. .» (2 Corinthiens 5:7).

As I finish reading your post, I am so glad you withdrew your divorce agreement. Our MC hates divorce. If you have not yet read the book “How God can and will restore your marriage, read it; If you have already read it, read it again. Focus on seeking the Lord. Your husband will come back when it’s time. In the meantime, I leave you with this verse that accompanies you every day:
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). “For we walk by faith and not by sight. . .” (2 Corinthians 5:7).

  3. Dear Bride, when I looked back to the beginning of my journey, I, too started with repenting. I wanted to change but I didn’t know where to start or change myself with my own strength. That’s when I cried out to the Lord to change me. I invite you to journal this lesson and encourage you to let the Lord lead in the changes you need –

I also want to encourage you to journal this other lesson as the Lord is preparing you to the next contact with your husband –

For a lot of us, changes start in us before the Lord changes our circumstances. I hope you will take advantage of this time to seek the Lord with all your heart. “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

    1. Thank you for your response
I just read that chapter 4 of wise woman this morning! I am continuing to work through the book and the video series

  4. “Thank you, we have a 3 Cord of comments supporting \o/\o/\o/ this bride. This session is now CLOSED.”

  5. Dear Bride
God alone will be able to walk you through this wait wrought with expectations, rejections, and disappointments. As you said you sought God and he said to pull the papers. Praise God! He alone can guide you, being firm in what we know and that is that He is our rock in all storms. As the storm rages around you I pray you find peace in “How God can and will restore your marriage” as well as in the power of Letting go in your heart and head in everything. My encouragement is anytime you are concerned about what EH is doing, where he is, what he is thinking know that The King turns the heart. You can not. He works ALL things for good for those who loves Him.
