Now, please tell us about your situation and why you have come to us for help and what has your husband/partner said are the main issues or problems he has with you and your relationship?
I was married to my current partner but we divorced January of this year, separated in October 2023. We reconciled February 2024 and have been together every since then. We were working on repairing our marriage but then he got a good job opportunity in another city (2 hours away) and I feel so confused. He applied for this job while we were separated. I honestly feel like God put us back together so why are we separated again. I don't know what to think now. Infidelity is the main reason we divorced but we were working through that. He has a lot of childhood trauma (adopted, molested) which led to him drinking and doing drugs to cope with his past. He still struggles with addiction to this day but when he is not in the town where he currently works he doesn't do drugs and barely drinks. That town is toxic for him but the good job has lead him back there. When he's there he drinks and does drugs which also has me questioning if he is cheating again. He says he is not and doesn't want to jeopardize losing me again but I can't help but wonder. When he's not in that town he is one of the best human beings I've ever met. I love him and want to be with him again. We even discussed having a big wedding this time since we went to the court house the 1st time.
Please use the space below to simply speak to God, in your own words, pouring your heart out to Him.
Father God, I come to you with a open and humble heart asking for restoration and reconciliation for me and Derrick. I don't think he knows how to love properly and I'm asking that you soften his heart, open his eyes, and restore his vision. He's faced a lot of challenges in his life and I'm asking that you heal of of all of his traumas spoken and unspoken. Show me how to give him that love that he needs to become the man of God you called him to be. Heal my heart and show me to to forgive so that I don't project anything from the past on what we are currently trying to rebuild. I love him and he does love me for sure. We just have this barrier in our way blocking what you have for us. Remove the blockages and bring us right back to loving each other wholeheartedly and a Godly way. I want the best for him and he wants the best for me. He doesn't know how to communicate and I overcommunicate and he scares him so much. Remove anyone and anything from his life doesn't allow him to see you and get close to you. Remove all my doubts and fears, worry, anxiety, and past heartbreaks so that it doesn't hinder our future. The decree and declare that that the devil can NOT have my spouse, the devil will not will. I declare victory, healing, love, restoration, reconciliation, peace, strength, hope, love, please, and clarity will devour us and we will be pushed forward closer to our Lord.

  1. I understand the rejection you experience. I had lived with my husband’s adultery and drug abuse. The heartbreak can feel unbearable. I was full of pain, sadness, bitterness. The Lord can restore your marriage even if you’re the only one pursuing restoration. Just be still and give all your concerns to Him, the One who truly cares.

I urge you to first read the book How God Can and Will Restore Your Marriage. Here is chapter 1, https://hopeatlast.com/c1/d1-chapter-1-my-beloved/
Please read the book then start the courses https://hopeatlast.com/c1/, pour your heart into your lesson forms and be sure to journal.

I am still in waiting season for the Lord to heal and transform my husband and his addiction. It was so hard for me a couple of years ago, I became bitter and angry with him and told him to leave. After a month, my Beloved had something just take over me and I went from having a hard heart to feelings of love and forgiveness in an instant. Don’t quit. He changed my heart to ask my husband’s forgiveness and to come back home (even though it took a while because I pushed him into the arms of another) when I thought I was “done” with him.

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Ex 14:14

  2. Dear bride I am so sorry for what you are going through. I agree with the course Hope shared with you. If you want to buy the Restore e-book you can visit https://hopeatlast.com/bookstore-kiosk/, the paperback is available on Amazon.

I would like to encourage you to read the Salvation Stories (https://loveatlast.org/fc/ss/) especially “Heroin Addict” (https://loveatlast.org/fc/ss/wk5/) because the Lord can deliver your former husband from his addictions.

I also want to share Atarah’s testimony with you: https://hopeatlast.com/c1/d26-sowing-reaping/better-for-me-then-than-now/

I would also like to leave the following promises with you to meditate on:

“‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and NOT for calamity to give you a future and a hope.'” Jeremiah 29:11

“Nothing is impossible with God” Matthew 19:26

  3. Dear precious bride I am so very sorry for all your hurt and what you are going through. I want to encourage to trust our Darling Lord, take His hand, put all your focus on Him and He will be the One to bring restoration.

“The Lord will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit—a wife who married young, only to be rejected,” says your God. “For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord your Redeemer.” I54:6-8 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaiah%2054%3A6-8&version=NIV

I agree with the lessons Hope and Adina suggested.
Please also read my testimony, I had a restored marriage after divorce: https://encouragingwomen.org/restored-marriage-testimony-classic-remarried-sober-after-15-painful-years/
And I also want to share my biggest mistake with you, so that you don’t make the same mistake: and that is not keeping all my focus on the Lord, so I want to encourage you to build on a real intimate relationship with our Darling Lord, experience His everlasting love and trust Him.

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” E3:20 https://biblehub.com/ephesians/3-20.htm

  4. “Thank you, we have a 3 Cord of comments supporting \o/\o/\o/ this bride. This session is now CLOSED.”
