My relationship with my dad growing up was not always good. It was very contentiousness especially when l got into my late teens… early 20’s.
There was a time for years when l had no contact with my dad l never called him. My dad always had something negative to say and l felt like it was just very too draining to even speak to Him.
I live in a different town so I have not seen much of him over the years.
The Lord my wonderful HH has changed my heart towards my dad so I do call him to make sure he is OK and even though He still speaks badly about my mom and her family (they got divorced when l was 18) I am able to just agree.
I’m thankful because the change happened in me. Because of His great love and patience for me I am able to love my dad
My dad never hugged or said l love you to my brother’s and sisters and myself but when l end off my call l can say “l love you” to him. Saying l love you comes naturally to me. Being loving and giving hugs is natural
My parents did not grow up in this way so I’m really thankful that my Beloved won me over so that I can win my dad over with love
Please comment and share your praise whether it’s about father’s day or any other family member that you have been able to win over with His love
“Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening].”
