  1. As a parent with toddlers, I can’t quite comprehend just yet on how to raise teenagers. But I always like to refer to Proverbs as it contains a lot of valuable verses about discipling children. “The rod and rebuke give wisdom, But a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.” is one of them.
I believe another great resource is what Erin is working on right now –

  2. I too am not at the teenager stage as I have three littles under 6. However, Erin has written a few great resources to help at all stages of raising children. Please see the resource for our Homegrown website above. But most importantly continue to seek Him and read His word daily as He will provide the wisdom that you need.

”Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.“
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

”The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him.“

  3. I have 3 boys (1 adult,1 teen, and my littlest at 9 years old.) I am not a perfect mother and have made many mistakes but have tried to direct their steps in the way they should go. I encourage you to read Week 16 Chapter 15 “Your Mother’s Teachings” Precious & Pleasant Riches – HopeAtLast.com from the Wise Woman book. This below is part of the chapter:

    Love Your Children

As parents, we must discipline ourselves first and begin to build a strong foundation of love for our children. If we fail to invest love in our children, we will have resistance and rebellion to our teaching, training and our correction. Therefore, love will be our foundation and love will be our children’s motivation to obey us.

We love, because He first loved us. The foundation of love is found in 1John 4:19: “We love, because He first loved us.” We are loved first by God; we, in turn, love Him. Similarly, our children cannot give love without being loved first. When I am the first to give love to my child, my child in turn will learn to love.

Also the book, How to Really ENJOY Your Children and LOVE Being a Parent, has a nice chapter on Love Chapter 2 “L.O.V.E.” – HomeGrownMinistries.com
