Do not stand in the way of sinners nor sit in the seat of scoffers

Psalm 1 the words l share as the title of my praise made a really huge impact at the beginning of my RJ. I can’t remember where exactly l had read it the 1st time, if it was the living lesson I’m sharing or if it was somewhere else. What it showed me at that time in my journey when l was so heartbroken was to stop standing in my eh way. I needed to stop gossiping, speaking to friends and colleagues and (jeering, ridiculing), l looked up these words what scoffing means to explain it a bit better. Gossiping is still something l need to always remember in my daily life to stay away from.

How blessed is the man who
does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! P1

Over the weekend my daughter came to share something with me so again I’m reminded of this scripture again.. so felt l should share it living lesson with you. I’m also speaking to my Husband to guide me.

If you haven’t l really hope you will read the Living Lesson because there’s an AMAZING blessing attached to this!!

  1. This is a good reminder. I think I remember reading this scripture for the first time years ago in the HGCAWRYM book (showing us not to stand in our husbands way). It’s one of my “go to” verses in different situations I have faced.

    1. Yes Hope!! It reminds us to rather meditate on His word than to worry about what an eh is doing or anyone else really, to instead focus and fill us up with His word. A lot of the time we are so focused on ourselves and our hurt when the solution is to meditate on His word day and night! This brings healing and the blessing of an abundant life!

  2. A powerful reminder!! The Lord wants us to be like trees planted near a stream of water!! But for that we must look for Him always!!!
    Love this!!

  3. Good reminder Atarah, they is no two way about it, the Lord wants us to grow and flourish with his word.

  4. Thank you Atarah, I for one learned the hard way not to stand in the way of sinners when my marriage crisis hit. And running to whoever is willing to listen instead of SG first. But once we stop standing in their way, stop talking to everybody and SG first, things do turn around, no matter what the situation is you are facing. Letting go and Letting God! And yes gossiping is also something I have to remind myself of, but He is helping me with this and it is easier to walk away if conversations go in that direction.

  5. Thanks for the reminder as we certainly need to stay in the narrow road by just following His example which is staying away of sinners way and instead keep meditating on His word to share our conversations only to Him.
